Narissa (she/her) has always known from early on in her career that she has a passion for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA). She thrives on helping others and has a strong belief that people are an organizations most important asset. Narissa has worked in the IDEA space for four years where she has developed and facilitated workshops, hosted large diversity events, and has created IDEA policies, procedures and strategies. She has been instrumental in guiding organizations through their IDEA journey while bringing her own intersectional approach to the table.
As a child of immigrant parents, she learned from a young age the importance of fostering an environment where everyone feels welcomed and strives to make that difference in organizations and the world at large. Narissa volunteers for many organizations and currently sits as an HR Generalist for the English Language Connections Program. She also finds a strong sense of community and belonging at her mosque where she also volunteers.
As a lifelong learner, Narissa is committed to continuously broadening her horizons and unlearning what she thinks she knows. Pushing boundaries and climbing new mountains is what she aspires to do every day. She proudly recognizes and is grateful to live on Treaty 7 territory.
