Kate (she/her) is the artist behind Kate Letters Lots, and she is a university student and lettering and illustration artist based in Calgary (Mohkinstis), Alberta. She specializes in bold colours, beautiful words, and all things niche and nerdy. Kate is a multidisciplinary artist who loves digital and traditional art alike. She practices mostly with digital art, gouache, and Lino cutting, but she is always finding new mediums to love. She has a passion for women’s rights and history and LGBTQ+ rights and history, and much of her work is inspired by these areas, especially having to do with literature and poetry.

Kate’s work has been featured in Applied Arts Magazine, the Woman of Type Book, The International Women’s Day x Typism collaboration, and will be in the upcoming Slanted Magazine Yearbook of Lettering. When she’s not drawing or studying, you can find Kate reading, catching up on her favourite shows, and spending time with her three spunky terrier mixes Bailey, Luna, and Scout.

You can find more of Kate’s work on her website www.kateletterslots.com or on her Instagram @kate_letters_lots. She is available for commission and wholesale work, and you can reach her on Instagram or by email at kateletterslots@gmail.com.
