Christine Selinger (she/her, disabled person) is both an Educative Consultant specializing in disability-related instructional design and is a Training Design Specialist with Canadian Blood Services. Christine has a master’s degree in Adult Education and was named the 2020 Outstanding Young Alumni from her alma mater. Christine is a two-time World Champion in the sport of ParaCanoe, winning a total of 11 International medals during her time in the sport. She is passionate about creating and maintaining spaces that are physically and socially accessible for all.
Christine gives back to her community both locally and globally through investment in volunteering opportunities and outreach programmes. She has been vice-chair of the City of Calgary’s Advisory Committee on Accessibility, and several national and international committees focused on disability and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion in sport. She has written for, or appeared in, several publications including 51degreesnorth, New Mobility, Our Canada, Inappropriate Questions, and CBC’s Hello Goodbye.
Christine spends her days off reading, watching sci-fi with her partner, and playing with her rescue pup, River. She is grateful to live, work, and play on the traditional lands of the Moh’kinsstis and all the people of Treaty 7.
